Eligibility Criteria For JRF (Junior Research Fellow) Qualification Requirement Education M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc (Engg.) in relevant discipline with First Class and minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.5/10 NET/GATE Must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship) , GATE , or equivalent national exam conducted by DST, DBT, DRDO, ICAR, IITs, etc. Age Limit Max 28 years as on 20.04.2025 (Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 yrs, OBC – 3 yrs, others as per rules)
For RA-I (Research Associate-I) Qualification Requirement Education Ph.D. or 3 years of research experience after M.E/M.Tech with at least one SCI publication Age Limit Max 35 years as on 20.04.2025 (Relaxation applicable as per Govt. rules)
Fellowship/Stipend
Post Stipend Other Benefits JRF ₹37,000/month (initial) → ₹42,000/month (as SRF) HRA if hostel not provided, medical benefits for self RA-I ₹58,000/month HRA, medical benefits for self
JRFs can be promoted to SRF after 2 years, based on performance.
